Latifa Tribal Kazak Ivory Hand-Knotted Wool Rug

Latifa Kazak is a Kazak-style hand-knotted wool rug in ivory with a tribal design. The motifs are loose and hand-drawn in feel, so the rug looks at home with both rustic and modern furniture. It is offered in the long, narrow 2'6" x 8' size.

Material and make

This is a hand-knotted rug: no glue, no backing cloth, just knots tied one at a time. Turn it over and the design is visible on the reverse, the quickest way to tell true hand-knotting from a tufted imitation. The wool pile hides soil well between cleanings and wears slowly, so this is a rug for rooms you actually live in.

In the room

At 2'6" x 8', the rug is long and narrow, so it suits a hallway or the side of a bed. Where it sits alongside seating in a living room, let the front legs of the furniture rest on it. In a bedroom, position it so that a generous strip shows beyond the mattress.

Care
