Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Rugsville.ca is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including customers with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to browse, learn about, and purchase our products with ease.
Our Standards
We aim to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities.
For our United States customers, our work is informed by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable Section 508 standards. For our Canadian customers, we are guided by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Accessible Canada Act, as well as similar provincial accessibility legislation.
What We Are Doing
- Designing pages with semantic HTML, keyboard-accessible navigation, and visible focus indicators.
- Providing meaningful alternative text for product photography and informative images.
- Aiming for sufficient color contrast and resizable, readable text.
- Building forms with proper labels, error messages, and ARIA attributes where needed.
- Testing with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation as part of our development process.
- Training content authors on accessible writing and image practices.
- Reviewing third-party components and working with vendors to improve their accessibility over time.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Common challenges include legacy product imagery without complete descriptive alt text, embedded third-party widgets, and complex interactive components. We are actively working to identify and remediate these issues, and we welcome your feedback to help us prioritize improvements.
Tips for a Better Experience
- Use the latest version of your preferred browser, which generally offers the best accessibility support.
- Most browsers and operating systems include built-in zoom, high-contrast, and screen-reader features that work with our site.
- If a page does not load or behave as expected, please clear your browser cache or try a different browser.

If you encounter content or functionality that is not accessible to you, or if you need assistance with any part of the website, please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information, item, or service you need through an accessible communication method or alternative format.

Ongoing Commitment
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We will continue to monitor, test, and improve our website as standards evolve and as we learn from our customers’ feedback. This statement will be updated as our practices and the website change.
