Terms of Use
Last updated: May 5, 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Rugsville.ca (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our company”). They govern your access to and use of our website, your purchases, and any related services. By accessing the website or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to enter into a legally binding contract to place an order. By using the site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
2. Accounts
You may create an account to manage orders and preferences. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe pose a risk to other users or to our business.
3. Acceptable Use
When you use the website, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including in product reviews.
- Interfere with the security or operation of the site, including by introducing malware, attempting unauthorized access, scraping, or running automated tools that place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Use the site to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Resell or use products purchased for purposes that violate the law or our policies.
4. Products, Pricing, and Availability
We work to display product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, materials, and prices accurately. However, color, texture, and pile may render differently on different screens, and minor variations are inherent to handmade and natural-fiber goods. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to correct typographical errors, refuse or cancel orders containing pricing or product errors, and limit quantities, including after an order has been placed.
5. Orders, Payment, and Taxes
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase. Our acceptance occurs when we charge your payment method and ship the order or send a confirmation indicating acceptance. Authorized currencies are displayed at checkout (USD on U.S. sites; CAD on the Canadian site). Applicable taxes, duties, and shipping fees are added at checkout where required by law. You authorize us and our payment processors to charge your selected payment method for the total amount of your order.
6. Shipping, Returns, and Custom Orders
Estimated shipping times, return windows, restocking fees (where applicable), and rules for custom and special-order items are described on the relevant policy and product pages. Custom-made or made-to-order rugs are generally non-returnable except where the item is defective or materially different from the order. Please review the applicable shipping and return information before placing an order.
7. Promotions, Coupons, and Gift Cards
Promotions are subject to their stated terms, may not be combined unless expressly permitted, and can be modified or withdrawn at any time. Coupons and gift cards have no cash value, are not replaceable if lost, and may not be resold.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the website — including text, graphics, photographs, logos, designs, code, and the selection and arrangement of content — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by U.S., Canadian, and international intellectual property laws. See our Intellectual Property Policy for details and for our notice and takedown procedures.
9. User Submissions and Reviews
If you submit reviews, photos, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with our business, including marketing. You are responsible for the content you submit, and you represent that you own or have the rights necessary to grant this license. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The website may link to third-party sites or services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.
11. Disclaimers
The website and the products and services offered through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we, our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the website or any products purchased, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the website will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless our company and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your use of the website, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or to the website are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where we operate, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. For orders fulfilled from our California operations, the laws of the State of California apply. For orders fulfilled from our other operations within the United States or from our Canadian operations, the laws of the applicable U.S. state or Canadian province apply. The U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
15. Dispute Resolution
We aim to resolve concerns informally first. Please review our Dispute Resolution Policy, which describes how to contact us, and any applicable arbitration and class-action waiver provisions where permitted by law.
16. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution) will survive.
18. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and other policies referenced on the website, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the website. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
