Rugs - 3' & 4' Round/Square - Hand Knotted - Yes
Area rugs, made by hand, priced in Canadian dollars
Rugsville Canada sells handmade and designer area rugs across the full range of weaves — hand-knotted, hand-tufted, handwoven, hand-hooked and flatweave — in wool, silk, jute, sisal, cotton and leather. Sizes run from door mats and 2' x 3' accents through runners to 12' x 18' room-size pieces, with round, square, oval, octagon and half-circle shapes alongside the standard rectangles. Everything is priced in CAD and ships across Canada.
Choosing a size
Size is the decision people get wrong most often, and it is the expensive one to undo. In a living room, the rug should be large enough that at least the front legs of every seat sit on it; a rug that floats in the middle with all furniture off it makes the room read smaller than it is. In a dining room, measure the table and add roughly four feet in both directions so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. In a bedroom, the usual choice is one large rug extending past the foot and sides of the bed, or a pair of runners down each side. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one.
Choosing a material
Wool is the default for a reason: it is resilient, takes dye well, resists crushing underfoot and handles dry Canadian winters without becoming brittle. Silk, usually blended with wool, adds sheen and detail and suits low-traffic rooms. Jute and sisal bring texture at a lower price and are well suited to layering, though they do not like moisture. Flatweaves and kilims have no pile, which makes them the practical choice under a dining table or in a hallway where a thick pile would catch a door.
Custom sizes
If nothing in a collection fits the room, most of our designs can be made to a specific size and colourway. See custom rugs.
